Lots of machines deal with packets, In fact most machines (should???) be at least aware of packets, but not so many actually use them effectively or with gusto.
Almost (almost) any PR adding more precise and useful packet interaction to (almost!!) any machine will be accepted.
This is one of those PR requests that's also sort of a recruitment opportunity - Think you have a good grasp on packetry and how to improve the system generally? You might have a permanent spot on the dev team.
